The group was established in February 2009 as a result of the decision to clear a wooded area for the new Drienerburght Hotel. After deliberations with the involved UT parties, there are now alternative plans whereby the hotel will be placed within the renovated Hogekamp building. As a result, a valuable piece of green space on the campus will be spared. A result to be proud of!
Furthermore, an inventory of the UT’s sustainability score has been developed. It was immediately clear that there are various areas for improvement. UTduurzaam wishes to commit to a sustainable, progressive UT, so that we can be proud to say:
"the UT works towards sustainability"
